Masters

Tirian

Tirian has been given many titles - mystic, rogue, enigma - yet only one title fits him completely, that of Master. The alien known only as Tirian, which is often the extent of one's knowledge concerning him, is a tall, well-built humanoid with blonde hair, completely white eyes - void of pupils, and pale skin that has a golden hue. He dresses in an ancient style of Jedi garb and always has his characteristic staff in hand, even though he has no real need for it.

Master Tirian has an almost android-like personality. He shows little emotion and can be rather blunt at times, which can sometimes rub people the wrong way. Despite this lack of emotion, his intensity can be seen in his eyes whenever he speaks. He is a creature of purpose that has a plan. The key to success with Tirian is faith. As difficult as it can be to have faith in someone like him, it is no more remote to have faith in an unseen energy field. The irony of it all is that sometimes Tirian has trouble placing his faith in his students. He expects them to trust him and follow him but he sometimes fails to reach out and extend the same courtesy. He may hesistate to explain his plans, expecting his orders to be followed without question. This has gotten him into trouble with the New Republic Senate from time to time. There have been several documented occassions where he has made demands of them without explaining himself to their satisfaction. It takes a while to get used to Tirian and to get to know him. Students almost always hate him from the start. But his oldest students, Jamier Trevis and Alexandra Tillet, are starting to understand him. They can sense that he distances himself from his students in reguard to certain information for a reason - like he's trying to protect them from something. He never discusses personal matters with anyone. He's all business; and even in reguard to business, he has this "the less you know, the better" kind of attitude. To the new student, this attitude is taken as a kind of disrespect. They may assume that Tirian doesn't think they can handle it or that a certain matter is outside their abilities, but the older students have begun to feel like it's something else, like he's trying to protect them from what they don't know.

Knights

Dalinar

Dalinar is the typical Mon Calamari in appearance, standing 1.6 m tall. He has the typical Mon Calamari need for law and order. Dalinar was an Imperial slave from birth until he managed to escape and join the Rebellion just before the Battle of Endor. He spent many years devoting his life to serving the Rebellion and the New Republic, but he was growing weary of the constant warfare and violence. Eventually, his path led him to the Jedi Academy. How his life has a purpose and direction that was missing before.

Dalinar is typically humble and soft-spoken. This is not to be construed as a lack of self-confidence – when necessary Dalinar can display an iron will and strong opinions. His experience has taught him, however, that such forcefulness is best used sparingly. Dalinar initially felt like an outsider at the Academy. Such feelings have long since passed, and Dalinar feels truly at home on board the Chu’unthor, and comfortable with his new life.

Nick Tarwin

Due to the slightly less than one standard gravity of his homeworld, Nick stands around two meters tall, even though his parents were of shorter stock. This caused him a little difficulty when he first left home because he had to adjust to higher gravity. However, his height is offset by his thinness. Nick is not heavily built, though his muscles are well cut and clearly toned. His skin, though, is a bit pale. He once sported a nearly year-round tan, but his natural paleness reasserted itself after he started living aboard starships and traveling the galaxy. His cheekbones are a little high and give him an almost elven appearance. Nick's nutbrown hair had been a lot of trouble until he cut fairly short, but now he is letting grow again (think Obi-Wan's length). A full beard the same color as his hair now decorates his face. His eyes are only a shade or two lighter than his hair and seem older than Nick's 22 years. There's a sort of peaceful, resigned sadness in them as well as compassion and understanding. When needed, they also how his fierce determination. He typically wears traditional Jedi robes: a brown robe, a beige tunic, tabard and obi (with an equipment belt over it), brown pants, and a white shirt under the tunic, when he is aboard the Chu'unthor. For missions involving secrecy, Nick wears his old spacers clothes, a black tunic and pants cut in a militaristic style or a down-on-his-luck gambler’s costume he hastily constructed on another mission. His lightsaber is ever present and he still takes along his blaster.

Nick has changed since the journey to Centra Sol. There is a more of an inward-focus to him now. He still smiles and laughs but those are rarer and more precious now. He seems emotionally flat to the outside. On the inside, Nick feels empty and lonely, like something is missing in his life. He grew up watching people form loving couples. His closest friends on his homeworld did so plus there were the examples of his parents and his parents’ friends. To cope with his loneliness, Nick devoted himself to his duty as a Jedi. He finds some peace and comfort in the small things of teaching and learning about the Force though the loneliness remains. He has accepted that as a sacrifice required for service to the Force and found a measure of peace in that acceptance.

Nick is an idealist and believes in the Code strongly. He believes in helping others and giving of himself. He feels compassion and empathy for those in pain and will help them. Even so, there are times when he must be away from others to cope with the loneliness within him. For his friends, Nick would willingly give his life to save them.

Alexandra Tillet

Alexandra is in her mid 20's, standing at 5'5" with a dancer's slender build, bright green eyes, golden blonde hair that falls to the waist, a tan that's somewhat faded from lack of being outdoors, very quick voice/speech, and hands that move while she talks. She is fairly attractive, by most human standpoints, and is easily recognized when in Jedi robes due to her position with the New Republic Senate and the High Command.

Jamier Trevis

Jamier has short, pitch-black hair. His skin is tan from days spent in the fields on Ennth but has been slightly paled from his years on the Chu’unthor, away from the sun. He has no blemishes, and his features seem to be chiseled - very handsome despite his young age. His eyes are the most startling feature - deep blue, seeming to have their own light, as if on fire with a sapphire flame. This is more of a marvel as both of his parents had hazel eyes, while he, alone, had the ethereal gaze for which he became known. Those eyes match the brilliance of his lightsaber and his moral resolve. Since beginning his apprenticeship on the Chu'unthor and being given the title of Jedi Knight, Jamier has worn the common plain brown robe that is the norm at the Jedi Academy, along with the off-white tunic and classic arm and leg wraps. He has grown accustom to the Jedi garb and now wears it with honor.

Jamier has seen a lot of suffering and trevail in his short years, especially since joining the Academy, but such is offset by the gift of confidence, comfort, and direction given through the Light of the Force. He, now more than ever, strives to fill his role as a Jedi Knight, to protect all life and that for which it stands: happiness, virtue, joy, and peace. Jamier had once considered himself a warrior but has since relinquished the title. He has seen the pain and suffering that war brings - he understands fully that it is not war that makes one great. He desires to be a diplomat, healer, mentor, philosopher, and, when occasion requires it, a defender. In short, he strives to be a true Jedi Knight.

Apprentices

Valde Ebrius

Valde has a lithe build with light brown hair and deep blue eyes. He doesn't appear physically strong, but there is a certain way he holds himself that suggests some athletic ability. He has a handsome, clean-shaven look, and his physical age appears to be somewhere in his mid 20's. There is a certain aura of calm about him, although in private moments or with good friends, there is a certain sorrow in his eyes and a weariness in his frame. He has a large scar on his upper left torso, the remnants of an old injury - but recently the Force has healed him of this injury.

Valde's outward personality has changed many times over his turbulent life. He has known despair and depression as a drunken derelict, the brash arrogance and wit of a smuggler, the wisdom and quiet strength of a Jedi, the leadership of a Cruiser captain. At different times and in different situations, various aspects shine through. When not in his Jedi robes the smuggler aspect is most prevalent, gallant and dashing with a quick sense of humour and a streak of confidence rather than arrogance. In his role as a Jedi, Valde is more quiet, rarely speaking except when necessary. His voice and manner resonates with a calm authority which comes from the Force. Valde's inner nature has never really changed. He has a strong set of principles which he has always followed. He is at ease around people but makes true friends only rarely, but once he has given his friendship he would lay down his life to honour it. Valde is a quiet thinker, a philosopher and poet to whom violence does not come easily. He wants to heal, partly now as a lifelong dream, and partly to atone the lives he has taken. Most of all Valde believes in the Force, trusting wherever it will take him.

Rob Niuewesteeg

Rob is a 5'10, 215 lb. Human male from Coruscant. With blue eyes and dirty blonde hair, Rob wears a neatly trimmed goatee over the baby face which makes him appear younger than he truly is. With a well toned physique, Rob appears stronger than he really is. Rob is usuaslly dressed in a flightsuit or his casual military dress. When away from the military Rob has recently begun to wear the light colored clothing and cloak of a Jedi.

Practical and down to earth, Rob's good sense of humour and friendly demeanor makes him a likable person. As a soldier for the New Republic, Rob has become a respected General through his actions of putting himself before his troops. He wouldn't ask his men to do anything he wouldn't do himself. He also leads through example. Rob is also a dedicated soldier. As a miliatary veteran, Rob has learned discipline and persistance will allow you to achieve any goal you choose. He is willing to do anything necessary to accomplish the goals set before him, even at the cost of his own life.

Gregory Quintus

Standing at about 6' 3" and weighing in at 200 pounds, Gregory, a 25-year-old male from Alderaan, is an imposing fellow to say the least. But unlike a typical bruiser, his lean and muscular features display some sense of compassion and intelligence, reflected in his deep hazel eyes. Likewise, his voice, which is very deep by any standard, remains at a low, soft and even tone. The dark brown hair atop his head is kept at a very short length, buzzed down to about half an inch long and kept in that style, not for fashion purposes, though, just to keep anyone from finding something to grab on his head when the fighting gets close. The neatly cut hairstyle is matched appropriately by a similarly kept goatee of the same color, lending a bit of distinction to the long planes of his face. A sense of dynamic energy is about the human, a still youthful reservoir that is often put to use in jumping in to assist a friend, or stranger.

Gregory's love of life is matched only by his curiosity, and compassion. These traits are what make up the very core of his being, leading him through his life as a map would lead a traveler. A traveler is another way to describe Gregory, his urge to explore and immerse himself in new cultures and people having taken him to many interesting places in his somewhat short life. It was these travels that eventually led him to knowledge of the jedi, and through a freak realization, somewhat of an accident, to some greater knowledge on his own heritage. However, his journeys have not always led him into kind places, and like a curious pup
that can know no fear, he continues nonetheless, searching. It is this apparent blindness (or ignorance) to his own mortality that sometimes gets him into trouble, walking forward to follow his explorer nature. More baggage has been added to the entity that is Gregory Quintus, now seeming himself as a law enforcer from his time spent as one on Coruscant, still thinking in that manner regularly, making for an odd combination when other aspects of his personality are taken intoconsideration.

Thorben Tile

Thorben, until recently, was confident, creative, idealistic, loyal, and quick thinking. However, the chain of events leading up to his meeting up with Gifentree have made him feel the universe is out to get him. It has also made him cynical, as he blames the Empire for the loss of his mother, and the New Republic for their failure to stop the lawlessness which took away his father. As he is still young, it is likely these views will change with time and experience.

Trainers

Quaen Draeoon

Quaen Draeoon, the more soft-spoken among the trainers, is considered the “healer” as he makes his residence in the Medical Wing of the Chu’unthor and is almost exclusively devoted to the healing arts and powers of self-control. That isn’t to assume that he has no other skills – he is, after all, a Jedi, even if he isn’t to the level of knighthood. Quaen is a Xa’Fel, a species whose entire planet has become a kind of toxic dump for the Empire. He is rapped almost completed in leper-like bandages to hide his disfigurements and discolored, diseased flesh. Only his soft green eyes are left visible and smiling through all the bandaging. He dons a simple off-white tunic and dark brown cloak, in the Jedi tradition.

A healer by nature, Trainer Draeoon is extremely patient and talks in measured, competent tones. He uses his powers entirely for peaceful purposes, and it has been rumored that he doesn’t even possess a lightsaber. Whether or not such rumors are founded in truth are known only to a few of the Jedi. He has an extreme reverence for Master Tirian, one that, once again, only a few understand in completeness. Despite his being soft-spoken, he is eloquent, energetic, and almost as mystical, due to his association with the need and competence of healing, as Master Tirian himself.

Ar Leita

Ar Leita is considered the “diplomat” among the trainers. Near human, Leita is absolutely stunning. Her smooth, pale skin is in sharp contrast to her loose-fitting maroon tunic, intricately woven in symbols of stars and ancient, unknown script, covered by a same-colored cloak that extends into a hood and vale that completely covers her milky-white eyes, yet still leaves the lower part of her face visible – her pale, unblemished skin and full lips. The diligent scholar may recognize that her species is very similar to the Miraluka among the ancient Jedi, or perhaps even of the Miraluka themselves. None know for sure.

Trainer Leita speaks in an attractive alto. She seems very self-confident, but not to the point of becoming prideful. She simply knows her purpose and direction and is firm in it, as if she sees more into what will happen than her pupils can come to realize. She feels strongly about facing and overcoming the temptations of the Dark Side, a path that she has known all too well.
